Zina Zoe Mills

It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Zina Zoe Mills, affectionately known as "Cissy," who left this world on May 6, 2026, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Born on March 8, 1952, in West Hamlin, West Virginia, Zina’s journey was marked by devotion, compassion, and an enduring love for those around her.

Zina pursued a meaningful career as a caregiver for home healthcare services, where her nurturing spirit shone brightly. Those who knew her well understood that her kindness extended beyond her professional life into every aspect of her existence. She held a profound affection for animals and found joy in tending to her garden, where she cultivated beauty and solace in equal measure.

A cherished daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Zina’s life was enriched by the bonds of family. She is survived by her daughter, Angela Hughes; her siblings, Chester Mills, Doris Mills, and Sue Mills; and her beloved grandchildren Cynthia Smith, Kayla Cruz, Joshua Hughes, and David Hughes. Her legacy also lives on through her four great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters, who carry forward the warmth and strength she imparted.

Zina was preceded in death by her father Elmer Mills, her mother Agnes Mills, her sister Patricia Mills, her brother Danny Mills, and her beloved grandson Justin Mills. Their memory remains intertwined with hers, held close in the hearts of those who grieve her loss.

A visitation to honor and celebrate Zina’s life will be held on May 18, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Indiana Funeral Care - Greenwood Chapel, located at 2433 E. Main St., Greenwood, Indiana. Following this, a funeral service will take place at the same location from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

As family, friends, and all who were touched by Zina’s gentle presence gather to remember and pay tribute, they celebrate a life devoted to care, love, and the simple joys found in nature and kinship. Zina Zoe Mills leaves behind a legacy of tenderness and dedication that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in peace.
