Willie Hawkins was born on December 14, 1943 the seventh of nine children of Virgil and Gertrude Hawkins. After spending his early childhood in Clarksdale, Mississippi Willie moved to Indianapolis, Indiana. Willie worked for the City of Indianapolis DPW/AFSCME/WREP for 41 1/2 years retiring in 2008.

Willie was married to the love of his life Ethel Marie Spry-Hawkins. They met in 1974 and married in 1987.

Willie Hawkins was a devoted family man who accepted the Lord at an early age.

He leaves to cherish his wife Ethel Marie Hawkins, son, Warren (Valerie) Hawkins, daughters, Jill Jones, Brenda Leake, Wanda Jean (Ronald) Watkins, Edna (Micheal) Boards, Rhonda Nichols and Ellis R proceed him in death.

Also left to cherish his memory 1 brother Floyd Hawkins of Clarksdale, Mississippi and 19 grand children, 36 great grand children. Host of nieces, nephews and dear friends.
