Bill Morris

William "Bill" J Morris, 91, of Indianapolis, IN passed away at his home December 16, 2023.  Bill was born July 22, 1932 in Vevay, IN to the late Leo & Eva Morris.

He is survived by his daughters, Susan (Ron) Rice, Ann Morris, and Jane (Greg) Chitwood; grandchildren, Heather (Evan) Lynette, Andrew (Anne) Rice, Courtney Chitwood, and Trevor Chitwood; and great-grandchildren, Juliette Rice, William Rice, and Ella Rice.

Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Ann (Haug) Morris; parents, Leo and Eva Morris; brother, Meredith Morris.

Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Army stationed at Panama City Canal, Panama and rose to the ranking of Sergeant.  After the Army he returned to school to finish his Masters Degree in Music. 

Bill was a retired Ordained Minister and Minister of Music in the Nazarene Church; serving at Indianapolis First Church, Broken Arrow Church (Broken Arrow, OK), Lake Avenue - now Grace Point Church (Fort Wayne, IN) Westside Church (Indpls.) and Southport Church (Indpls.)  He was also a retired Music Teacher in Perry Township School District where he taught for 25 years.  He loved working in and giving the gift of music to all, though his true calling was following after his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and proclaiming this good news to all through music. 

Faith, Family and Friends were most important to Bill and he will be missed by many.

Funeral Services for Bill have been scheduled for Wednesday, December 27, 2023.  Viewing from 10:00 am to 11:45 am, then Funeral Service at 12:00 pm at Indianapolis First Church of the Nazarene.  Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Greenwood, Indiana.
