William Theodore “Ted” Houghton, 37, passed away June 29, 2026. Those who loved and knew Ted will remember his quick wit, kindness and infectious laugh. He loved spending time with family, friends and his son Jaxson.

Ted was born June 23, 1989, to Dick and Caryl Houghton and had four brothers and a half-brother (Jon). Throughout his grade school and high school years, Ted enjoyed fishing, kayaking and swimming in Lake Maxinhall with family and friends. Ted graduated from Cathedral High School and cherished the friendships made there and at St. Matthew. After graduation, he worked as a laborer for several companies. Despite his struggles, Ted always maintained a gracious spirit and positive attitude.

Ted is survived by his beloved son Jaxson Houghton and will be deeply missed by his mother Caryl Houghton; along with his brothers Alex Houghton, Chris (Ashley) Houghton, Jeff (Natalie) Houghton and Matthew Houghton; and grandmother Beverly Norman. He is pre-deceased by his father Richard Houghton, and aunts Debbra Ramsey and Maryl Hoskins.

A Celebration of Life for Ted will be Monday, July 13th with visitation from 2PM to 3:30PM, followed by a short prayer service at Indiana Funeral Care North, 82nd and Allisonville Rd. Friends are welcome to post memories and photos online through Indiana Funeral Care.
