Listen to Obituary

William Tyler Helweg, age 33, of Beech Grove, Indiana, tragically left us on Sunday, August 31 2025, in the comfort of his home, enveloped by the love of his family. His passing leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of all who had the honor of knowing him.

Born on February 17, 1992, to Robert James and Lisa Ellen (Powers) Helweg, Tyler was a cherished son and a dedicated husband. He is survived by his loving wife, Jessica Marie (Stoneking) Helweg, and their two beloved sons, William Thomas "Liam" Helweg and Leo James Helweg. Tyler's spirit also lives on through his parents, Bob and Lisa Helweg, and his siblings, Ryan (Seanne) Helweg, Christina (Colin) Koons, and Emma Helweg, along with a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews who adored him dearly.

Tyler and Jessica's beautiful journey began back in 2010, blossoming from friendship into love. Their bond deepened over the years, leading to their marriage in 2017 and the joy of parenthood with the arrivals of Liam in 2018 and Leo in 2022. As a devoted father, Tyler found boundless joy in every moment shared with his children.

A true lover of the great outdoors, Tyler found solace and happiness in nature. From fishing and camping to hiking and boating, he treasured these moments spent with his family. His culinary talents brought smiles to many, as he delighted friends and family with his exceptional cooking, grilling, and smoking of meats. Tyler also shared a deep passion for gardening with his father, taking pride in nurturing peppers and tomatoes with great care.

With a playful spirit and an infectious sense of humor, Tyler had a remarkable ability to bring laughter to those around him, often ready with a joke or a funny story. A true jack of all trades, he had a knack for fixing just about anything, always curious to learn how things worked.

Tyler’s gentle and nurturing nature extended to his beloved pets. Proudly considering himself a "Dr. Dolittle," he shared a special connection with the animals in his life—including a Ball pythons, corn snake, Leopard geckos, Bearded dragon, Chameleons, as well as his cats and dogs.

Above all, Tyler held his family close to his heart especially his wife and children. His unwavering loyalty and love for his loved ones will be sorely missed by everyone fortunate enough to know him. His determination and fighting spirit endeared him to those around him, and his legacy will forever resonate.

Tyler Helweg’s spirit will forever illuminate the lives of those who loved him, a guiding light as they navigate the days ahead.

Until Then

We'll meet again when this world ends,

but until then,

I'll remember all your good years,

your bad and your lean years,

your laughter and your tears.

I'll remember how you came through it all,

standing so tall, never complaining,

because you were too tough to fall.

I'll remember how you always had time

for a friend, a smile and a helping hand.

You were a big, big-hearted man.

Yes, we'll meet again when this world ends,

but until then,

I'll remember all the funny things

you used to say and do

and all the wonderful times that we shared too.

Yes I'll remember from day to day,

and I just want to say

We'll meet again when this world ends,

but until then,

thanks for being my friend.
