William George Dains was born to George William Dains and Bertha Helen Fauquet (Dains) on April 14, 1942 in Berkeley, California. He went to work for NCR Corporation after high school and spent his working years (40) with the company, retiring as District Manager in Indianapolis, Indiana. After retirement, he worked as a realtor and broker for a few years and was a starter at Eagle Creek Golf Course,

He married Patricia Douglas in 1985 in South Bend, Indiana. He had four children, 5 grandchildren, three great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

He loved woodworking, golf, travel, cribbage and a good bourbon. He is remembered by his grandchildren as being an involved grandpa who built swings, tree houses and zip lines (and anything else they wanted)!
