Listen to Obituary

Wayne Jackson Linville, “Jack,” born on March 16, 1954, embarked on his heavenly homecoming on August 8, 2025. Jack was a 1972 graduate of Arsenal Technical High School and later studied electronic engineering at ITT Technical Institute. He would study to become a highly skilled licensed electrician and, later, a licensed preventative maintenance electrical engineer. Jack’s first big job was installing and servicing radios and telephones in police cars. He also repaired CB radios. He then worked for RCA as maintenance electrician in a manufacturing plant that produced vinyl records. He would go on to work for companies such as Brehob Electric, Rand McNally, Navistar, and Snell Infrared. He retired from Horner Electric in 2019.

In 1973, Jack met his bride Judy through a mutual friend while sledding at night at beautiful Garfield Park and later married in January of 1975. Together, they would start their family and continue to reside on Indy’s southside. A private man, Jack loved music and enjoyed playing his guitar at home and was part of multiple church bands. He also loved playing strategy games, working with model trains, and reading historical fiction and science fiction along with watching the History Channel and studying anything related to the military.

Jack was preceded in death by his mother, Vicki Jackson and his sister Sharon Anderson. He is survived by wife Judy (Steele) Linville and children David Linville, Joseph Linville, Katie Tillman, and Neil Linville along with his grandchildren Jackson, Kalel, Jasmine, and Megan.
