Waneta Foltz

Waneta Foltz, 91, of Indianapolis and Fairland, passed away on June 14th, 2023. She was born on December 29th, 1931 in Indianapolis, IN. She retired at 61 from office management.

Waneta graduated from Tech High School. She worked as secretary, mother, and a wife. She was a member of Psi Iota Psi sorority. She loved her ability to work for charity. She was a member of LaSertoma, where she became the president from 1976 - 1977. She then joined Sertoma (Service to Mankind), where she held numerous leadership positions. The love of her life was her husband, Elmer. She met at a swimming pool and Elmer jumped in, not knowing she was afraid of water. On that day, he told his friends he was going to marry her, which he did 3 months later.

Waneta is survived by her daughter, Karen (Paul) Young. She had two grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Sertoma Foundation in Kansas City, MO.
