Walter James Simpson

May 28, 1955 — January 11, 2022

Jim “Jimmy” Simpson Jr., 66, of Plainfield, Indiana passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022.

He was born Saturday, May 28, 1955 to the late Walter J. Simpson Sr. and Cova (Hatcher) Simpson in Greencastle, Indiana.

Over the years Jimmy wore many hats. At the age of 13 he worked alongside his sisters at Maplecroft Drive In selling tickets. After he graduated High School in 1973, he attended Indiana Business College while working for Pizza Hut, and before graduating he was offered a management position. He realized while he was in school that he was not a desk and phone guy, he loved being around people. He also worked at Red Lobster where he aggravated his co-workers and met his Bride Robin. They were together 38 years until his passing. Together Jimmy and Robin owned a DJ and Karaoke business providing services for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, fundraisers, wakes and many other events. For the last 26 years Jimmy found his passion for life working at Andy Mohr Chevrolet in Plainfield. Everything he did in his life in wearing his final hat he did at Andy Mohr Chevrolet.

He is survived by his wife, Robin Ann Rene (Didot) Simpson, his sister, Mildred Stevenson and husband Mike Stevenson; brothers-in-law, Joe Didot and his wife Debra, brother-in-law; Kenny Gibson, and his Aunt Rena; many cousins, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews and his family at Andy Mohr.

From Robin to Jimmy

Waking up to a soft glowing light, emitting through the dark of night. I see snow falling gently to the ground, erasing the darkness all around. Filling my heart with calm and peace, and for now the pain has ceased. God covers me in a blanket of love, sent especially to me from you above. I love you too honey.
