Victor “Vic” Mutisya Mbiti, 52, passed away on November 25, 2025, at Community North Hospital.
Born on June 13, 1973, in Nairobi, Vic was the beloved son of the late Bishop Daniel Mbiti (passed August 14, 2020) and Bishop Rebecca Mbiti.
Vic attended Dagoreti High School and Kangundo Boys School before continuing his studies at The Art Institute of Atlanta. He built a successful career in accounting and finance, where his drive and determination set him apart. He lived by the motto, “Money never sleeps,” consistently raising the bar and finding ways to excel. His work ethic was unmatched, and he took pride in achieving excellence in every role he held.
Above all, Vic loved his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Kari Mbiti, and his cherished stepchildren, Corey and Quinten Howard, whom he loved as his own. He is also survived by his mother, Bishop Rebecca Mbiti; his brothers, John Mbiti; Joshua Mwendwa (wife Marissa Mwendwa); Rev. Samuel Mbiti (wife Marianne Mbiti); and Peter Mbiti (wife Faith Mbiti); along with his beloved nieces and nephews, Kamini, Katanu, Noah, Nathan, Aimee, Daniel, Helen, and Daniel.
Vic was kind, loving, and generous, with a heart of gold. To know him was to love him. Known as the life of the party, he had a smile that could light up any room and a spirit that drew people together. Faithful in his relationships and steadfast in Christ, he lived with compassion, humor, and grace.
Music was one of his great passions and the very thing that brought him together with his wife. He also had an extraordinary gift in the kitchen, creating dishes from every cuisine with his own unforgettable flair—often better than any local restaurant. A devoted soccer fan, he proudly supported Manchester United F.C..
As a husband, Vic was Kari’s greatest supporter and encourager. With him by her side, there was nothing they could not face together. Their life was filled with love, laughter, and partnership, and even in challenges, they found joy.
A visitation followed by a memorial service will be held on June 13, 2026, with visitation from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm and service from 2:00 pm –3:00 pm at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church (Midtown Campus), 6185 Guilford Ave. Indianapolis, IN 46220 followed by a private, invitation-only celebration of life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Pancreatitis Foundation.
Vic’s legacy is one of love, faith, laughter, and unwavering devotion to family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered
