Born June 24, 1938, in Terre Haute, Indiana to Mary Virginia Garvin Buckner and Vernon Edgar Buckner. She attended Wiley High School in Terre Haute, Indiana. Nicki was a proud mother of four boys. She worked many jobs, including Lough Brothers' cabinet division, Indiana State University athletic department, manager of MAB Paints in Carmel, Indiana, and many retail jobs including Jacobson's, Von Maur, Nordstrom, and St. Vincent's gift shop.
Vicki enjoyed going to Starbucks for her black coffee and the Rusty Bucket for dinner. She was known by all as "Miss Vicki." She was a huge Colts fan and an avid letter writer. Cruising with family and friends was her favorite way to travel. Vicki was 43 years sober and walked countless people down the path to sobriety through her work with AA.
She is survived by her sister Judy Short (Mike), son Jeff Lough (Tarita), son Scott Lough (Marcia), son Brad Lough (Kimberly); grandsons Brock Lough (Jordan), Tsali Lough (Cole), Nick Utterback (Shelby), Lucas Utterback, Gregory Lough, Brandon Lough, and Jacob Lough, granddaughters Makenzie Utterback, Marah McCullough (Brandon), Ellie Albert (Danny), Grace Lough, and Kathryn Lough; great-grandsons JJ, Donald, Nico, Culli, Liam, Oein, Zayvair, Kashton, and Miller; great-granddaughters Devynn, Liesel, and Charley. She was preceded in death by her son Donald ("Donnie") Lough and her brother Harold ("Butch") Buckner.
A gathering to celebrate Vicki's life will be held on Saturday, August 29th from 12pm to 2pm at Indiana Funeral Care North 8151 Allisonville Rd Indianapolis, IN 46250.
Rest in Peace. Enjoy those Heavenly Rusty Bucket fried pickles.
