Vance Colby Curry, born on May 5, 1957, in Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2025, in his hometown. Vance was known for his friendly personality, effortlessly engaging anyone in conversation and making everyone he met feel at ease. He had a relaxed approach to life, always taking his time and never rushing through the moments that mattered. His caring nature drove him to lend a helping hand to those in need, demonstrating a genuine concern for the well-being of others.

A devoted family man, Vance took great joy in the company of his children, Amy Carlisle, and Grant Curry (Sarah). His love extended warmly to his grandchildren, Brayden Daniels, Addison Curry, Jacob Curry, Hadley Curry, and Emerson Curry, who brought immense happiness into his life. Vance also cherished his siblings, Anthony Curry, Darlene Aquilar, and Ramona Whittemore along with his wife, Sonia Curry, providing him with lifelong support and friendship.

Vance had a variety of interests that brought him joy and fulfillment. He was an avid fan of the Indianapolis Colts, Indiana Pacers and the Cincinnati Reds, eagerly watching their games and celebrating the victories with his loved ones. Music filled his heart as he adored Elvis and could sing just as well, often entertaining friends and family with his talent and often participating in karaoke. His love for old country music resonated deeply within him, serving as a soundtrack to many cherished memories.

Fishing was another of Vance’s passions; he enjoyed spending hours by the water, relishing the tranquility and the thrill of catching fish. A culinary enthusiast, he was well-known for his exceptional cooking skills, especially his famous biscuits and gravy. He loved to eat good food. 

Vance is preceded in death by his parents, Bobby J. Curry and Mary M. (Stotts) Montri, who nurtured his kind spirit and shaped his values.

Friends and family are invited to gather in memory of Vance. Visitation will be held on November 14, 2025, at Indiana Funeral Care - Greenwood Chapel, located at 2433 E. Main St., Greenwood, IN 46143, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A memorial service will follow the visitation at the same location, commencing at 12:00 PM and concluding at 1:00 PM.

As we remember Vance Colby Curry, let us celebrate a life that was full of kindness, laughter, and love. He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
