Troyce Lee Kirby, 76, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, after a life defined by faith, devotion, and quiet strength. He was born April 13, 1949, in Swifton, Arkansas, to Bernard and Viola Kirby, and grew up surrounded by a large and loving family. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Luke Maupin and Haley Lightsey.

On March 19, 1988, Troyce married the love of his life, Barbara, and together they shared 38 wonderful years of marriage filled with laughter, partnership, and deep commitment.

Troyce was a graduate of Decatur High School, Class of 1967. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. A lifelong Cardinals baseball fan, he also loved gardening and could fix anything he put his hands on. Whether it was tinkering in the garage or helping someone in need, Troyce was the first to show up and the last to complain. He was known as a gifted mechanic with a natural ability to repair, build, and create.

Throughout his working years, Troyce dedicated 31 years to Chrysler, 9 years to Kirby Drywall, and later worked 5 years at Interstate Battery, where he was respected for his hard work and reliability.

Family was the center of Troyce’s world. He was a proud father to Carrie (Barry Skalski), Jamie (Linette Staley), Tessy (Brent Kirkendoll), Larry (Kim Maupin), Joshua (Jody Maupin), and Jeremy (Kris Maupin). He was blessed with sixteen grandchildren, along with seven great-grandchildren. He had 5 siblings; Patricia Morgan, Carol Thorton, Betty Henry, John Kirby, and Alice Smith. He grew up with a large longing family.

Above all, Troyce loved Jesus. His faith guided every part of his life, and he was a dedicated member of Lifeline Baptist Church. He lived with humility, served with generosity, and left a legacy of kindness that will continue in the hearts of all who knew him.

Troyce will be deeply missed, but his family rejoices knowing he is at peace in the presence of the Lord.
