Timothy Allen Johnson, known affectionately as Tim, was born on December 24, 1946, in Indianapolis, Indiana to James Edward Johnson and Maude Louise (Foreman) (Johnson) Taylor. He peacefully departed this life on December 4, 2025, at his home in Fairland, Indiana, surrounded by his beloved family.
Tim's dedication and determination were evident in his professional life. In 1971, he founded Johnson Home Improvements, a testament to his ambition and vision. He successfully ran the company until his retirement leaving a legacy of hard work and commitment that his family continues to uphold.
In addition to his business accomplishments, Tim found immense joy in his personal life. He married Delsie (Carr) Johnson on March 21, 1966, and together they nurtured a loving family, raising four daughters. He cherished his role as a husband and father, creating countless memories with his loved ones.
Tim had various interests that enriched his life. When he wasn't immersed in the construction business, he could often be found working on cars or taking long drives, enjoying the thrill of being behind the wheel. His passion for firearms led him to collect guns and spend leisurely afternoons at the shooting range, where he shared his love of the sport with friends and family. Tim also enjoyed swimming and shared adventurous outings with his daughters, such as their unforgettable trip to the Ohio River, where he threw them in and encouraged them to navigate their way back to shore.
Above all, Tim loved to connect with people. He was known for his playful spirit, often found joking around or playing light-hearted pranks that brought laughter to those around him. His charismatic personality and warm heart left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Tim is survived by his loving wife, Delsie (Carr) Johnson, and his daughters, Delsie (Johnson) Grant, Tammy Nell (Johnson) Shortridge, and Peggy Sue Johnson. He is also remembered fondly by his sisters, Belinda (Taylor) Willoughby and Sharon (Taylor) Velasquez, along with his cherished grandchildren.
Tim is predeceased by his parents, James Edward Johnson and Maude Louise (Foreman) (Johnson) Taylor; his daughter, Donna "Michelle" Johnson; and his grandchildren, Markey Cody Benz Brown and Dalton Culvert Shortridge. Also by his siblings, Nancy (Johnson) Thurston, Sue (Johnson) Killion, Mary (Taylor) Benson, Donna (Taylor) Stinson, and his brother, James "Jimmy" Johnson, along with step-sisters Sissy and Jeanie, and uncle Edicar.
Timothy Allen Johnson's life was a vivid tapestry of love, laughter, and lasting memories. He will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Visitation will be held on December 11, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM at Indiana Funeral Care - Greenwood Chapel, located at 2433 E. Main St., Greenwood, IN 46143. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM, concluding with a graveside service at New Palestine Cemetery, 5055 500W, New Palestine, IN 46163, at 2:30 PM.
