It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Timothy Lee McFarland, a man of endless spirit, humor, and love.
Tim passed away at age 72 on November 14, 2025 in Kokomo, Indiana. He was born in Indianapolis, a son of the late Mildred Arnell and James Roland McFarland, and lived most of his life in the state. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Teresa and brothers Ricky and Mike, as well as his wife, Marty Kistner.
Before retiring from the Indiana Highway Department in 2018, Tim did a little bit of everything in his working career, including siding, construction, and truck driving. He was the kind of guy you’d call when you needed any kind of help, from a leaky pipe to bad wiring or just a shoulder to cry on. No matter what the situation, he’d show up with his big laugh and bigger heart that inspired his many nicknames, including "Tinker," "Roundman," and "Fluffy."
But Tim was a tough man, too, having battled cancer and beat it back to remain in remission for two years at the time of his passing. His interests and hobbies included the finer things of life, such as fishing, NASCAR, building his beautiful yard, and hunting for mushrooms, deer, rabbits, and the ladies. Yet what he loved most was sharing laughs and stories with family and friends and living life to its fullest.
Tim is survived by his daughter, Theresa Lynn McFarland, and her loving partner, Michael Allen, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, a whole mess of cousins and the friends who became family.
He will be remembered as a beloved goofball and cherished father, cousin, and friend who touched the lives of everyone lucky enough to know him.
