It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Timothy Scott Edwards, a beloved member of the Indianapolis community and a dedicated member of the Butler University Sigma Chi fraternity. He passed away on March 15th, 2023, at the age of 63.
Timothy was born on October 30th, 1959, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was a graduate of Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School and went on to attend Butler University, pursuing a degree in Media and Communications. Timothy was a loyal member of the Sigma Chi fraternity, where he had a profound impact on his brothers and inspired those around him with his kindness, tenacity, and enthusiasm.
He was a hard-working and dedicated employee who had a passion for sports. He worked for the Indiana Pacers in Media Relations for 30 years. Tim was a true sports enthusiast who loved to show off his Indiana Fever championship ring, follow the Chicago Cubs and all the local Indianapolis teams. He was always eager to share in the excitement of a winning game and never gave up hope that the Pacers would one day bring a championship trophy to Indianapolis.
Over the years, Tim touched many lives and made countless friendships. He had a great sense of loyalty and a passion that was an inspiration to many. He was always there to lend a helping hand or a listening ear to those in need. His kind heart, generosity, and positive attitude will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Tim is survived by his loving wife, Kim, to whom he was married for 6 years. Tim was devoted to his stepchildren Jessica, Rebecca, Matt, Hannah and 12 grandchildren. He was also a loving son to his parents, Wayne and Judy and brothers Todd, Tom, John, sisters-in-law Julie, Jennifer, Krista and 7 nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his many friends, colleagues, and the countless lives he impacted throughout his life.
