Timothy A. Reiman

Timothy A. Reiman (Tim), 93, of Indianapolis, Indiana went to be with the Lord Jesus on September 18, 2025. He was born on July 30,1932 in Battle Creek, Michigan to Virginia Reid Reiman and Harold A. Reiman.

Both of Tim’s parents died at a young age, which inspired two of his goals: to create a loving, supportive family and to live a healthy, long life. He accomplished those goals with the help of God, two long marriages, his can-do attitude, and his unflagging discipline of swimming a mile each day.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Karen. He is survived by his two devoted daughters, Catherine (Arthur) Turcotte and Leslie (Neal) Yoder; five grandchildren: Caroline (Mat) Pennington, Sarah Turcotte; Julia (Bob) Onghetich, Reid (Bethany) Yoder, and Jana (Kevin) Brown; seven great grandchildren: Tim, Nile and Novee Onghetich, Alex and Emilia Yoder, Brey and Lena Brown, and his sister, Linda Vincent. He is also survived by three stepchildren: Kelly Eskew, Phil (Noriko Hara) Eskew, Kevin (Deb) Eskew, and four step-grandchildren: Takara Hara; and Kamryn, Jack Henry and Peyton Eskew.

Tim had best friends all over the world and nearby at Marquette Manor, yet he always had room for one more. He was Mr. Enthusiasm, was passionate about our country and its leaders, and had a strong work ethic. He took his daughters to nearly every state, presidential birthplace, major sporting event, and amusement park. He enjoyed having grandchildren and made fun memories with them. He loved snow skiing, roller coasters, water skiing, boating, driving long distances, playing golf, and serving as Camp Director for his grandkids on the White River. He competed in National Masters Swim Meets until he was 85.

Tim was loyal. He cared for his wife, Karen, for 10 years of her battle with dementia. He attended reunions of every organization he ever joined, because when he got involved it was forever. He was frugal and used coupons for dinner out, but also generously gave to his family, friends, and organizations. He sent letters of encouragement to everyone he knew, even the President of the United States.

He believed and lived like one person can make a difference.

Tim graduated from Fort Lauderdale High School where he was Florida state swim champion (1950) and from the University of Michigan with a bachelor of business. He was a Phi Delta Theta.

He served in the U.S. Army (1st Lieutenant) and had a 39-year career in insurance sales and management. He loved helping people. He worked tirelessly to fundraise for the Salvation Army and the YMCA. In his long retirement he also enjoyed volunteering for his church, Lions Club, Service Club, and White River Yacht Club, as well as spending time with his children and grandchildren and traveling the world.

On Saturday, October 4, visitation (9:00 to 11:00 am) and the memorial service (11:00 am) will be held at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, West 86th Street, Indianapolis, where Tim was a member.
