Thomas Michael Redmond, 87, of Indianapolis, passed away on February 17, 2026, in Indianapolis.
Tom was born in Indianapolis, IN to John and Marguerite Redmond on December 30, 1938. He married Mary Kathryn (Kay) Huston on September 15, 1963, in Highland, IN. He graduated from Indiana University Bloomington. He spent his career in the accounting field as a devoted Controller, often going above and beyond to help others. He served in the Army Reserves as a Medic for six years. Tom was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. One of his greatest joys was watching his children/grandchildren/great-grandchildren not only playing sports but any of their activities. He was always there to celebrate with a fist bump no matter what the outcome.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents, John and Marguerite Redmond, brothers: John, Robert (Bob), David (Dave), and Richard (Dick), and sisters: Marguerite (Rita) Brown and Alice Gong.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Kay as well as their children Steve (Olivia) Redmond, Colleen (Larry) Smith, Doug (Kandi) Redmond and Janeen (Ron) Weldy as well as 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date, with details to follow.
Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or Community Health Network Foundation.
The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Michael Robertson, Dr. Pablo Bedano, the Community Heart and Vascular Hospital nurses and staff, and the Community Hospice for their compassionate care.
