Thomas Hopkins, 62, passed away on July 30th, 2023. Thomas Harrison Hopkins was born October 10, 1960 to his loving parents, Dottie and Dick Hopkins, in Streator IL. He was the youngest of 5 kids and the only boy. His sisters are Dottie, Sally, Mary Jane, and Cheryl. The family moved to Arizona where he graduated from Trevor Brown High School. He went to work for Arizona Public Service where he spent most of his career, going on to become a Master Electrician. After 20 plus years with APS he left Arizona and traveled around the country doing mostly commercial work.
He had a strong faith in God and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was the proud father of Michelle (son-in-law, Thomas Leslie) and Evan. His pride and joy were his 5 grandchildren, Andrew, Makaylee, Matthew, Alyvia, and Alvin. He enjoyed watching them play sports and sing with the choir. He was a lifetime fan of Da Bears, AZ Cardinals, Phoenix Sun's and the Diamondbacks. In his younger years he enjoyed hiking, dancing, fishing, and playing darts. Music was a big part of his life from playing the drum and bugle as a child, to attending countless concerts as an adult. He never met a stranger and made friends everywhere he went. He kept his great sense of humor through the end as he defied odds and fought until the very end. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy; father, Richard; sister, Sally Hicks; and nephew, David Wargo Jr.
He is survived by his children, grandchildren, 3 sisters, many nieces, and nephews. He was also very excited to learn he had a great grandchild on the way.
