Thomas Hayworth

Thomas Clarence Hayworth, 77, of Indianapolis passed away Saturday, October 7, 2023. Thomas was born on Saturday, March 9, 1946, to John and Scottie Hayworth in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Thomas received a bachelor's degree from General Motors Institute and was a member of Theta Xi Fraternity. He went on to obtain his master’s degree in business administration from the University of Indianapolis. Thomas was a proud member of the Southport Masonic Lodge and a past member of the Scottish Rite Cathedral. For over 20 years, he built and raced midget cars with USAC and NAMAR racing clubs.

Thomas worked for over 40 years at General Motors Truck & Bus Group as a mechanical engineer in the manufacturing department.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carol Hayworth; daughter, Dawn (Hayworth) Stout; grandsons, Zane, Ethan, and Asher Stout; several nieces and a nephew.

Thomas was proceeded in death by his parents, John and Scottie (Hancock) Hayworth along with his brothers, John and Jerry Hayworth.

A public viewing will be held at Indiana Funeral Care, Greenwood Chapel on Saturday, October 14, 2023 from 1:30pm-3:45pm with Masonic Funeral Rites being held at 3:45 and the funeral service to follow at 4:00pm.
