Theresa Ann Stewart

Theresa Ann (Riedlinger) Stewart, age 77, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away at 3:33 p.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at her residence. She was born to the late Robert and Sarah (Guthrie) Riedlinger on March 14, 1942 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Theresa graduated from Scecina Memorial High School, class of 1960. She retired from Lanman's Florist working as an Office Manager after 14 years. Theresa enjoyed gardening and cleaning. She loved animals and taking care of her two cats, dog, and bird. Theresa attended Saint John Catholic Church and has been a member for nearly 40 years. She was kind and loved helping people in any way she could. Theresa will be deeply missed by those who knew her.

She is survived by her significant other, Bryan Merrell; her loving daughters, Kele Volpino and her husband Fabrizio of Fleming Island, Florida and Kimberly Stewart of Indianapolis, Indiana; and her siblings, Dennis Riedlinger, Robert "Bob" Riedlinger, and Mary Hall and her husband Bernard.

Theresa is preceded in death by her parents.

She was a most kind and loving soul, she could always lighten any situation and make your heart smile. Theresa didn’t know a stranger and they must have known this because anyone and I mean anyone would just walk up to her and tell her their whole life story... and she would not budge until they were finished to share whatever it was with her, she loved this, she LOVED people and seemed to never get enough of bringing light into others lives... Theresa was magic, she was a lighthouse to all whom were seeking her wisdom and they traveled near and far to be near her... she is and will remain the most beautiful and strong human being I’ve yet to know in this life and perhaps even the next..

Visitation will be held in the narthex from 1:00 p.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 126 West Georgia Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46225. Father Todd Riebe will officiate. Interment will follow in Holycross Cemetery, 2446 South Meridian Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46225.
