Terry Lee Branca, a cherished member of his family and community, passed away on June 6, 2025, in Indianapolis, Indiana, at the age of 78. Born on November 29, 1946, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Terry led a life marked by service, compassion, and a profound love for his family and friends.

Terry’s professional journey was defined by his commitment to youth and public service. He was instrumental in the Indy Parks Department, where he set up engaging programs for young people and took on the important role of refereeing basketball games. This dedication to fostering a positive environment for youth laid the groundwork for many future athletes. Later, he served with honor at the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, specifically in the property room, from September 5, 1996, until his retirement on August 31, 2016. His work in law enforcement demonstrated his steadfast dedication to community safety and integrity.

A testament to his sense of duty, Terry served in the United States Air Force, an experience that allowed him to travel and witness various cultures around the world. His military service profoundly shaped his values and perspectives on life.

Outside of his career, Terry was a passionate sports enthusiast, often keeping up with the latest developments through television, radio, and the internet. He particularly enjoyed dining out, with a fondness for enjoying breakfast during traditionally off-hours. Furthermore, Terry found deep fulfillment in his devout Bible study, making it a priority in his life. His Fridays were often spent at a local Burger King, where he cherished the company of fellow Bible study attendees.

Terry's love for his wife, Thomasa Sue Branca, was remarkable. The couple celebrated their marriage on July 23, 1983, and together they built a life filled with love and shared interests. Terry's devotion to his family extended to his children, Adam Branca and Elizabeth Branca Hollaway, as well as his son-in-law, Joel Hollaway. He took tremendous joy in being a grandfather to Noah and Lily Hollaway, leaving an indelible mark on their lives.

Terry is survived by his beloved wife, Thomasa Sue; his son, Adam Branca; his daughter, Elizabeth Branca Hollaway and her husband, Joel; and his grandchildren, Noah and Lily. He is also remembered fondly by his brother, Ron Branca, and sister-in-law, Judy Branca.

Terry's legacy of love, service, and faith will continue to inspire those who knew him. He will be dearly missed but fondly remembered for the warmth he brought into the lives of many.
