Sybil Helen Bryant

Sybil Helen Bryant passed away on March 20, 2026, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Born on February 12, 1948, in Mariemont, Ohio, Sybil's life was marked by her dedication, both professionally and personally, and her love for quiet moments and cherished companions.

Sybil graduated from Fayetteville High School in Ohio, laying a foundation for a fruitful career that saw her excel as the video manager at Marsh Supermarket. She devoted many years to this role, beginning at the Beech Grove location before continuing her service at the Shelbyville site. Her colleagues and customers alike valued her no-nonsense approach and the efficient management style she maintained throughout her tenure.

Beyond her professional life, Sybil was an ardent lover of animals, especially cats and dogs, caring for many throughout her life. Her fondness for her furry companions reflected a gentler side of her otherwise direct demeanor. She treasured her alone time, finding solace and strength in moments of quiet reflection.

Sybil was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Bryant, to whom she was united in marriage. She also mourned the earlier loss of her parents, Nolan and Mamie (Wheeler) Wells, as well as her brothers, Darrell Wells and Marvin Wells. These early losses shaped much of Sybil’s perspective and character.

She leaves behind a devoted family that loved her. Sybil is survived by her children Michele Baatz (Scott), Missy Barker, and Michael Sutter Jr. (Sherry). Her grandchildren, who carried forward her legacy with respect and affection, include Tiffani Barnhill (Johnathon), Jarod Hughes (Emma), Angelina Barker, Erik Barker, Aaron Geiken (Madison), Wyatt Sutter, Maccoy Sutter, and Annabelle Sutter. Sybil was also a cherished great-grandmother to ten beloved great-grandchildren.

A visitation to honor Sybil’s life will be held on March 26, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Indiana Funeral Care - Greenwood Chapel, located at 2433 E. Main St., Greenwood, Indiana. Following this, a funeral service will take place at the same venue from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. The day will conclude with a graveside service at Fairland Cemetery, 4430 N. 400 West, Fairland, Indiana, beginning at 2:30 p.m.

Sybil Helen Bryant’s legacy is one of forthrightness complemented by a deep, abiding affection for those she held dear. Her presence and character will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know her.
