Steven Otto Virden, 75, of Sebring, Florida passed away on January 2, 2026, at home with the love and comfort of his family in attendance. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, teacher and friend, Steve touched many lives.
He was born on October 19, 1950, in Oakland City, Indiana to Robert and Mary (Conlin) Virden. He married Norma (Stewart) Virden on July 8, 1978. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He worked at Herff Jones for 41 years as tool and dye maker. He graduated from Tech High School. He attended St. Phillip Neri grade school. He was a member of Fleming Garden Christian Church, West Pines Baptist, First Baptist Church of Sebring, and was currently attending Grace Bible Church in Sebring. His interests included golf, bowling, euchre parties, coaching, umpiring softball, and waterskiing.
He is survived by wife, Norma Virden; daughter, Desiree Santos; grandsons, Fernando, Steven, Caleb and Dominic. Steve is also survived by his siblings, Della Darringer, Mike Virden, Carolyn Shanor, John Virden, Charles and Rhonda Virden, Barbara Driggs, Pam and Dennis Schooley and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary Virden; siblings, Patricia Grubb, Bobby Joe Virden, Eric Virden.
Service will be held at Noon on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Indiana Funeral Care West, 5791 Rockville Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46224. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time. Steve will be laid to rest at Floral Park Cemetery following the service.
