Steven Edward Loman

Dr. Steven Edward Loman, 78, of Noblesville, Indiana passed away peacefully on March 12th, 2023 at home surrounded by love. Steve was a true warrior during his valiant fight against Parkinsons disease. He was born January 14, 1945 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Dorance and Mary (Newland) Loman and is preceded in death by his parents, sister Karen Loman Robbins, brother-in-law Alan LaGrange and niece Jessie Hederick.

Steve was a 1963 Arlington High School graduate and earned his Bachelor’s and Doctorate Degrees from Indiana University’s School of Optometry, Bloomington, Indiana. He was President of his fraternity and loved all his SAE brothers. Steve was also an active member of Northview Church, Carmel, Indiana.

Steve is survived by his loving wife Susan, and adoring daughter Melissa (Aaron) Evans of Denver Colorado and his bonus children Joy (Ivan) Frink and AJ (Jessica) Baldridge of Carmel, Indiana. Grandwonderfuls, Jonah, Benny and Kama Jane Evans of Denver and Arianna Baldridge of Fishers.

In college, Steve and Terry Cocherham formed a band, “Steve & Terry with Full House”. They performed for the next 10 years in and around the Bloomington area. One of their fondest memories was performing live in Las Vegas the summer of 1975.

Steve was well known for his infectious smile, compassion for others, story telling, belly-laughing jokes, love for music and shepherding for God’s eternal kingdom.

Dr. Loman began his Optometry career in Indianapolis and later formed Loman Eye Care,
Carmel, Indiana. Doc loved practicing and was a compassionate, caring physician and retired in 2017. He was also known to spend a great deal of time with his patients and was admired by his colleagues.

Funeral service will be held April 21st at 1:00pm in the Chapel at the Ritz Charles (12156 Illinois St. Carmel, IN 46062) with his Celebration of Life immediately following in the Garden Pavilion. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Indiana Parkinsons Foundation in honor of Dr. Steven E. Loman.
