Stephen Brent Kern

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Stephen ‘Brent’ Kern on 10-1-2025.

He was born on September 23,1950 to the late Kenneth and Mary Kern, in Beech Grove, Indiana.

He is survived by two brothers, Michael Kern and Kent (Peggy) Kern; and two daughters whom he loved very much. Brent is also survived by Jean Schmidt, his partner for about 30 years. Together they resided in Westfield, Indiana for the past 5 years. 

Brent was preceded in death by a sister, Melissa that passed away at 17 years old.

Brent loved golfing and fishing, was always quick-witted and fun to be around, and was very caring and loved people.

He was previously a small business owner and was in sales.

He will be missed by many but suffers no more. His wishes were to be cremated with no service.
