Stephen Wayne Elliott

Stephen Wayne Elliott, affectionately known as “Pappy,” passed away on August 27, 2026, at his home in Greenwood, Indiana, with family by his side. He was born on August 18, 1952, in Shelbyville, Indiana.

Stephen served his country in the U.S. Army from October 2, 1970, until August 23, 1972. During his military service, he was stationed in Germany. Following his time in the Army, he built a career as a local truck driver, working for several companies including Watkins and Shepherd, HH Gregg, Rapid Delivery, and others. He was known for a life of steady work and dedication.

Beyond his work and service, Stephen took great pride in the things and people he loved most. He was especially proud of his Yorkies, Mia and Zva, and cherished them along with all of his past fur babies.

Stephen will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Cozetta Elliott. He also leaves behind his daughters, Stephanie Elliott and Crystal Clouse and her husband, Jeremiah, as well as his stepsons, Tony Macaluso and Tommy Macaluso. He is also survived by sister-in-law, Peggy Elliott; brother, Larry Hensley and his wife, Penny; sister-in-law, Debbie Hensley; brother, Timmy Hensley and his wife, Terri; sister, Angie Schwering and her husband, Bruce; brother, Rick Chrisman and his wife, Pat, and brother, Doug Taylor and his wife, Christina; his brother, Richard Elliott Jr and his wife Leasa; and his brother, David Elliott. Their lives were part of the family circle he held dear.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Elliott; mother, Mildred Clark; son, Bradley Elliott; and his brothers, Mike Elliott, and Donnie Hensley.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Indiana Funeral Care - Greenwood Chapel, 2433 E. Main St., Greenwood, Indiana 46143. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel.

Stephen Wayne Elliott will be remembered with love for his service, his years of hard work, and the devotion he gave to his family and the companions who brought him joy. His memory will remain close to all who knew and loved him.
