Stephen Robert Dyke, age 77, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on July 19, 2026. He was born on March 29, 1949, in Indianapolis to the late William and Violet (née Carpenter) Dyke.

Steve will be remembered first and foremost for his deep faith and love for Jesus. An avid outdoorsman, he found great joy in nature—whether he was hiking, camping, or taking backpacking trips with his grumpy teenage daughters. Some of his fondest moments were spent fishing with his children at Fort Harrison State Park and Geist Reservoir, and he always cherished sharing stories of his adventures while living in Alaska. At home, Steve was a passionate gardener who loved cultivating a wide variety of plants and vegetables.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Virginia, Margaret, and Sylvia; and his brothers, William, Charles, Richard, and James.

Stephen is survived by his children: Stephanie (Alberto), Racheal (Michael), Levi, Frances (Juan), and Patricia; his grandchildren: Bryan, Sofia, and Danny; his ex-wife, Regina, with whom he shared 47 years of marriage; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Instead of flowers, please honor Steve’s memory by taking a walk in nature or going fishing. Memorial donations may also be made to the American Cancer Society, LeeAnn’s Animal Rescue, the Lupus Foundation of America, or the Spina Bifida Association of Indiana.
