It is with deep sorrow and love that we announce the passing of Stephen Owen Cook, a devoted Christian, cherished father, and faithful friend, who entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on May 13th at the age of 85.
Born on May 11,1940 in Clinton Indiana, Steve lived a life rooted in faith, guided by integrity, and filled with love for his family and others. He was an avid gun collector, amateur historian, and a Hamm Radio operator. K9SGK was his handle.. He was a member of Outlook Christian Church where he served faithfully in various ministries and touched many lives with his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering faith in God.
Steve was a pillar of strength and compassion to his family. As a father, he led by example—patient, selfless, and always present. His children will remember him as a man of prayer, a provider, and a constant source of support. He is survived by his five daughters; Angie Whitham (Fred Whitman) Beth Coats (Don Coats), Debbie Graham (Greg Neil), Chris Landroche (Terry Landroche), and Tracey McNamara (Jimmy McNamara) and eleven Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Betty Joyce Mathis Graham Cook.
A celebration of Steve’s life will be held on May 16th at noon at Indiana Funeral Care 8151 Allisonville Road Indianapolis, Indiana. Visitation will be from 11:00-12:00 pm the same day.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Outlook Christian Church or The American Kidney Foundation, reflecting Steve’s generous heart and lifelong commitment to serving others.
Though we mourn his loss, we rejoice in knowing he is now at peace in the arms of his Savior. “Well done, good and faithful servant.” – Matthew 25:23
