Stephen Eugene Clay

Stephen was born to parents Crema and John Wesley Clay. He attended Indianapolis Public Schools and graduated from Shortridge High School. Stephen was a US Army veteran and worked for years as an air traffic control officer. Steve later worked for AT&T from where he retired in 2002.

In 2002 he and his lifelong companion Brenda retired to St. Petersburg, FL. and returning to Indy in 2015. Steve was interested in computers and music, but especially gospel music.

Steve is survived by his son Dorjan, stepchildren, Alesia, Thomas, and Derrick; sister Alice Clifford; seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Steve was preceded in death by his companion Brenda; his parents, Crema & John Wesley; siblings JoAnn, James, John, Betty Jean, Louella, Richard, Joseph, and nephew Ricky.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Indiana Funeral Care 8151 Allisonville Rd. visitation on 8/18/2022 at 10:00am – 11:00am, with a memorial service to follow at 11:00a.m. – 12:00pm.
