Listen to Obituary

Dr. Stanley David Reed was a man of brilliance, curiosity, and heart. Born on October 14, 1952, in Brooklyn, New York, he built a life dedicated not only to knowledge but also to family, mentorship, and joy. On August 19, 2025, he passed away peacefully at his home in Carmel, Indiana, leaving behind a legacy that will never be forgotten.

A gifted scholar, Stanley pursued chemical engineering at MIT and went on to earn his doctorate from Harvard University. His achievements in academia were only part of his story — he was also a licensed scuba diver, a lover of plays, and a devoted listener of jazz music. Friends, colleagues, and countless remember him most as a mentor, always ready with wisdom, encouragement, and time.

He now reunites in heaven with his beloved parents, Bernette and Morris Reed. He is survived by his devoted wife, Xenia L. Reed; his children, Daniel, Jacqueline, Monique, and Sterry; his grandchildren, India, Jada, Sydney, Lyric, and Camila; and his great-grandchildren, Jonah and Nova.
