Shirley Ann Taylor, age 84, of Avon, Indiana, peacefully passed away on August 11, 2025. Born on November 25, 1940, in Osgood, Indiana, she was the beloved daughter of Gale and Luella McDonough, who have preceded her in death.
Shirley led a vibrant life filled with joy and cherished moments. She found great pleasure in a wide array of activities including going to the casino, playing bingo, engaging in mahjong, practicing her skills in solitaire, and cooking meals for her family. Her love for reading books and solving crossword puzzles showcased her inquisitive mind. Above all, her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, a testament to her devoted nature.
Throughout her life, Shirley nurtured a strong family bond, and her legacy will live on through her loving children: Michael Taylor, Robert Taylor, Donald Taylor, and Lee Taylor. She is also survived by her grandchildren, including Michael Jr, Austin, Elyssia, Alxcia, Ciera, Robert Jr., Alivia, Shania, Greg, and Tyler; as well as her great-grandchildren: Michael III, Mason, Ava, Rylee, Ashton, Logan, Annabelle, Mozes, Nevaeh, Mikayla, Damien, Madeline, Gwendolyn, Dallen, and Haiden.
Shirley now joins her late daughter, Enid Taylor, as well as her ex-husband, Henry Taylor, and her 11 siblings in eternal rest.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate her life at Indiana Funeral Care - Greenwood Chapel, located at 2433 E. Main St., Greenwood, IN 46143. A visitation will take place on August 29, 2025, starting at 10:00 AM and concluding at 1:00 PM. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Following the service, a graveside service will be held at White Lick Friends Cemetery, Mooresville, IN 46158, at 3:00 PM.
Shirley Ann Taylor will be remembered for her warm spirit, her love for family, and the joyous memories she created throughout her life. She leaves behind a rich legacy that will continue to inspire those who knew and loved her.
