Shirley Ann Bullock, affectionately known as Shirlann, was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, family member, and friend. Shirley was born and raised in Gary, Indiana, and later resided in Indianapolis, Indiana. She peacefully departed this life on September 24, 2026.

Shirley was born on August 30, 1953, in Gary, Indiana, to Johnnie and Irene Bullock. She was raised in Gary and spent the majority of her life there. She attended Gary Community Schools and graduated from Emerson High School in 1973.

Following graduation, Shirley began working at U.S. Steel, where she was employed at the Billet Mill until the department closed. She later continued her career at Methodist Hospital Southlake. Shirley also dedicated her time to caring for others as a caregiver for Bridges.

Shirley will be remembered for her toughness, strong will, and, most importantly, the tremendous love she had for her family. Her strength and presence touched the lives of those around her, and the memories she created with her loved ones will be cherished for years to come.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie Bullock and Irene Bullock; her sister, Idella; and her brothers, Jerry, Johnnie Jr., George, James, Alexander, and Larry.

Shirley leaves to cherish her memory her children, Tangela Willis and Herbert Willis Jr.; her grandchildren, Gregory, Anthony Jr., Dayshawn, Joshua, Tayveona, Tatyana, Talaya, and Hannah; her great-granddaughter, Nevaeh; and her great-grandson, Makhari.

She is also survived by her siblings, David Bullock (Corinthia), Gregory, and Gale; her special nieces, Christina, Kia, and LaGuana; her special great-niece, Miya; her special sister-in-law, Marva; Tommie Jean and Leola; and a host of extended family members and friends.

Shirley’s life will forever be remembered through the love she gave, the strength she demonstrated, and the family she cherished so deeply. Though she will be greatly missed, her memory and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
