Shelly Rene Mahan

Shelly Rene Mahan, age 58, passed away on June 19, 2023, in Indianapolis, IN. Shelly was born on July 14, 1964, in Noblesville, IN, to Emily Haskell and Ralph Castor. She graduated from Noblesville High School in 1982 and went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Liberty University.

Shelly had a fulfilling career in the healthcare industry, working as a nurse's aid at Riverview Hospital, an in-home nursing caregiver, and a rehabilitation counselor. She had a fun sense of humor and quick wit. She loved to sing her favorite songs and was an animal lover. Shelly was strong in her faith.

Shelly collected angel statues and Coca-Cola memorabilia, worked in her flowers, and loved spending time with her husband James and family. She was a member of Lawrence Baptist Church and Refuge Christian church.

Shelly is survived by her husband James Mahan. Daughters; Brittney and husband John Dreslinski and Emmie Millstead and husband Jeremy Millstead. Son; Jerred Morris. Grandchildren; Jonathen Lehman, Bernadette Dreslinski, and Brielle Dreslinski. Siblings; Danny and wife Lynn Castor, Tim and wife LeAnn Castor, Todd and wife Beth Castor, Mike and wife Kathy Haskell, Mary Sue and husband Glen Stout. Many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother Emily Haskell, father Ralph Castor, stepfather Harvey Haskell, and granddaughter Natalie Dreslinski.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 29th, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at Lawrence Baptist Church, located at 100 S. Post Rd. Indianapolis, IN 46219.
