Sharon Ford passed away after her battle with cancer on February 23, 2026.
Sharon was born on November 23, 1947 and married her husband Charles on November 17, 1962. She was affectionately known as “Sherri” to those closest to her, but most importantly to all the children whose lives she touched at her home daycare.
Most days you could find Sharon watching Andy Griffith and I Love Lucy on her kitchen TV, falling asleep in the evenings while reading James Patterson, eating banana Laffy Taffy, and going on camping trips with her husband and grandchildren— who remember often requesting she make them fried potatoes, to which she always obliged.
Sharon is survived by her siblings, Peggy Kendall, Becky (Larry) Lorren, Sandy Davis, Debbie Lewis, Russel Quakenbush, Cindy (Michael) Beaty, and Stuart (Melissa) Quakenbush; sister-in-law Lou Quakenbush; daughter-in-law, Kim (Bill) Reed; sons Charles Ford Jr., Michael (Terri) Ford, and Jimmy (Christy) Ford; grandchildren, Brandon, Matthew, Cara, Cody, Sammie, Zach, Amber, and Maddie; and several great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ford; her parents James “Thurman” and Margaret Jones; sister Mary (George) Bianchi; brothers-in-law, Larry Kendall, Johnny Davis, and Kenny Lewis.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
