Sarah Jane Cooney

Sarah Jane (Lindsey) Cooney, 46, passed away on May 18, 2023 in Indianapolis, IN. She was born on March 18, 1977 in Indianapolis, IN, to Tom and Paula Lindsey.  She married Matthew Cooney on July 14, 2007.  

 

She was a brave fighter, having battled breast cancer and beating it. She always wore her heart on her sleeve. She loved her family and pets immensely.

 

She is survived by her loving husband Matthew Cooney, her in-laws Timothy and Carolyn Cooney, sister-in-law Jennifer (Joshua) Bail, brother-in-law Michael (Amy) Cooney, her mother Paula Lindsey, sister Marci (Ron) Thomas, brother Thomas Lindsey ll and several nephews, nieces and great-nieces.

Sarah was preceded in death by her father Tom Lindsey and brother Paul Lindsey.

 

Sarah graduated from Danville Community High School and was working on her Accounting degree from WGU on-line. She also worked as a Controller at Level 365, whom she thought of as a second family. In her free time, Sarah loved her pets, and was an active member in several chat groups with women diagnosed with breast cancer, sharing her experiences and learning from others. 

 

Memorial services for Sarah will be held at Indiana Funeral Care, located at 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN on May 26, 2023 from 12-4 pm. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the American Breast Cancer Society.

 

Rest in peace Sarah. You will be deeply missed by all that knew you.
