Sarah Jean Buscemi

Sarah Jean (St. John) Buscemi, 87, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away Sunday, March 10. 2024. "Jeanie" was born on Tuesday, March 2, 1937 to the late Lester and Mary Elizabeth (Greenwood) St. John in Indianapolis, Indiana. She worked as a school bus driver for Indianapolis Public Schools for more than 30 years, many of which were dedicated to special-needs children. In her early years, she worked at the Southside Tee-Pee and Fireside South restaurants, and at local Bingo games.

In her free time, Jeanie enjoyed spending time at resorts and casinos with her husband Vince and many special friends. She hosted many sleepovers for both her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She attended gatherings, school programs, and always remembered to call and write for family birthdays. She was a loving, caring Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother and will be deeply missed by her family.

Jeanie is survived by her husband of over 31 years, Vincent Buscemi; her daughters Deborah Mullenix (Rick) and Michelle Sowders-Burris; her Grandchildren Gary Stofer (Remy), Jennifer Stofer, Ricky Mullenix, Nick Mullenix (Holli), Zach Burris (Amy), Stephanie Koers (Charlie); and her Great Grandchildren Angela, Ashley, Adriana, Quinn, Alexander, Hudson, Xander, Logan, and Lydia. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Marvin “Saint” St. John, sisters Betty Aikins, Alice Birt, Patsy McKean, her daughter Monica and several nieces and nephews.
