Sandra Cordier Zimmerman passed away May 25, 2026 after nearly four years in long term care. Sandy was born September 12, 1943 in Akron, Ohio to Merl and Faye (Minser) Cordier and grew up in Mogadore, Ohio. She graduated from Mogadore High School and attended Manchester College in North Manchester, Indiana. She married Gerald (Jerry) Zimmerman in 1964. After college they lived in Kendallville, Fort Wayne, and Carmel (all in Indiana).
Sandy is survived by her husband, two sons: Eric (Mandy) and Mark, and four grandchildren: Kayla, Tyler, Joshua, and Noah. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Ronald Cordier, sister Barbara Cordier Hodson, brother Lawrence Cordier, and sister Marilyn Cordier.
Sandy and Jerry made the decision that she would be a stay-at-home mom while their sons were growing up. She later worked as church secretary, a scheduler with Visiting Nurse and Hospice, and a customer service representative with Wells Flower and Gift Shop in Indianapolis. Sandy and Jerry retired in 2000 and enjoyed traveling in their motorhome for fourteen years.
Sandy loved baking and sharing her cinnamon rolls and sourdough bread with friends. She and Jerry also enjoyed singing in their church choir for many years.
In lieu off flowers, preferred memorials are gifts to Allisonville Christian Church or the charity of your choice.
