Sandra "Sandy" Quakenbush, born on October 3, 1958, in Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on April 26, 2026, in Trafalgar, Indiana, after courageously battling cancer for one year and eight months. Sandy was a fighter to the very end, and her spirit of resilience and love for life leaves a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Sandy’s life was marked by warmth, love, and an undeniable zest for the simple and beautiful moments that make life rich. She cherished having family gather in her home, where she would spend countless hours lovingly cooking and cleaning, always making sure everyone felt welcome and cared for. To Sandy, those gatherings were more than just meals—they were opportunities to nurture the bonds that made her world meaningful.

Nature was close to Sandy’s heart. She had a remarkable green thumb, tending with care to plants both indoors and out. Many who visited would recall the vibrant life that surrounded her and her peaceful habit of sitting on the porch, silently enjoying the delicate dance of hummingbirds fluttering nearby. These small joys brought her comfort and reflected the gentle soul she was.

Sandy’s adventurous spirit was equally heartfelt. She and her beloved husband Tim savored thousands of miles on the back of their Harley, the open road symbolizing freedom, shared dreams, and countless memories made side by side. These journeys were a testament to their deep bond and the joy they found in exploring life together.

She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, but especially by her husband Tim, who shared in her joys and supported her through every challenge. Surviving are her son, Justin Evers, along with three grandsons and four great-granddaughters who will carry forward her enduring love and cherished legacy.
