Ryan Wayne Light

Ryan Wayne Light, 39, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday morning, August 6, 2026. Born October 7,1986, Ryan lived a life that was marked by challenges, but also by moments of joy, adventure, humor, and connections with the people and things he loved.

Ryan is survived by his mother, Rhonda S. Leitherer; stepfather, Earl A. Leitherer; grandmothers, Barbara S. Conway and Patty Wilkins; stepsister; Andrea M. Taylor, Sarah M. Leitherer, stepbrothers; Kurt M. Leitherer, William J. (Ashley) Leitherer, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and his beloved cat, Widget.

Ryan was preceded in death by his father, Darin Joseph Light; grandparents; Roy Frank Light, Rena Light, Rudy A. Wilkins, uncles; Bob Beeson, Chris Harbert, and his beloved cat, Mya.

Ryan's story cannot be told simply by the numbers of years he lived or by the illnesses he endured. His was a life that contained difficulty, but also laughter, interests, memories, family, travel, the ocean, fishing, fireworks, video games, airplanes, and countless moments that made him uniquely Ryan.

Ryan will be remembered. He will be missed and he will always be a part of the lives of those who knew and loved him.
