Ruth Ann Clausen

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the death of Ruth Ann Clausen, who passed away on May 16, 2025, at the age of 80 in Whitestown, Indiana. Ruth Ann is survived by her sister, Linda Rough of Wayland, Michigan; son, John Clausen of Jamestown, IN and daughter, Heidi Kiser of Ely, IA. Ruth Ann has six grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 24, 1944, and lived in Kankakee, Illinois most of her life. Ruth Ann married Carl Clausen on June 15, 1968 in East Chicago, Illinois.

In 1970, Ruth Ann and Carl moved to Kankakee, Illinois, specifically three acres of rural land in Limestone township. Ruth Ann was a teacher and later, she and Carl, owned and operated Clausen Construction and Lube Max. They moved to Okahumpka, Florida in 2020.

Ruth Ann was a loving and supportive wife and mother. She loved the outdoors, traveling, whales and her children and grandchildren. Family was important to her, and she loved hosting large picnics, Thanksgiving and Easter celebrations. Ruth Ann was generous with donating her time and talents to civic organizations and the church. Music was her passion, and she sang in the adult choir for approximately 50 years and directed the children's choir for 25. She will be truly missed as she touched so many lives.
