Roy Gene Hood

On February 17th, 2026, Roy left his earthly home to be with his Lord and Savior after enduring a long illness. He was born to James and Isabelle Hood in Kokomo, Indiana. He married his loving wife, Debra, on January 18th, 1991, celebrating 35 years of marriage. They raised a daughter together, Amanda, and built a life full of love and laughter! He graciously accepted a mother-in-law in their home, for many years and never a day passed where she didn’t receive a hug and a “I love you!”

He never met a stranger and always had an infectious laugh! Never leaving someone without a joke, even when they were not always funny! His generosity and kindness touched countless lives! He spent 50 years in HVARC field, retiring from a company he so loved and always felt appreciated (Heaton Mech). He was proud to be a part of a wonderful family owned company. He enjoyed 26 years of fishing the waters in Canada. He and his wife would walk hand in hand to the dock each morning. Once the boat left the dock, the competition began!

A wonderful, kind man who brought so much joy, laughter, and more love than we deserved to our lives. A bond to never be broken. The best dad to his wife’s daughter, raising her like his very own. She loves him dearly. His grandkids never missed a kind word, a huge hug, or a bit of good advice each visit with them.

His memory will forever be a blessing in the hearts of his wife, daughter, children, and extended family. He would want everyone to remember him in laughter, not in tears. Rest in peace, we love and miss you!
