Rose Lee Powell (Sexton), of Indianapolis, IN, passed away on May 8, 2024, at age 70. Rose was known for her fiery, never-back-down attitude and her deep love for family. Although Rose faced many trials and tribulations throughout her life, she attended various churches and her faith in God remained unwavering. Rose was a natural artist and an avid animal lover, being referred to in the past as a “horse whisperer”, she raised numerous horses, pure-bred wolves, and domestic dogs, with her surviving dog being a pure-bred German Shepherd named Apollo. Rose is preceded in death by her parents, William and Beulah Cronk, and her grandson, Aaron Cofer. Being the true matriarch of her family, she is survived by her two children, son, Micheal Manuel of Palm Bay, FL, and daughter, Mechelle Moore of Indianapolis, IN; nine grandchildren, Amanda Manuel, Michael Manuel, Tiffany Jackson, Ashley Manuel, Zackery Cofer, Haley Fairchild, Crystal Melick, and Elijah Manuel; and thirteen great-grandchildren, Weston, d’Artagnan, Rosslynn, Ronan, Asher, Raelynn, Kylie, Irelyn, Anthony, Kace, Caroline, Carissa, and Elias. Services will be held at Indiana Funeral Care (8151 Allisonville Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46250) on Monday, May 13, 2024. Public viewing is from 1 to 3 p.m. with the funeral following immediately after from 3 to 4 p.m.
