Roger Dale Elamon

It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Roger Elamon, Fairland, IN on May 14, 2025 at the age of 77. He was a cherished spouse, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

Roger was born in 1948 in Logan County, Kentucky and was the second son of William and Madie (Allen) Elamon, both of whom preceded him in death. Roger is survived by his sister Brenda Kammerer, as well as his two stepbrothers Harry Duarte and Michael Duarte, and sister-in-law, Iris Elamon. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Elamon. 

He leaves behind his beloved wife Sandy Elamon, two children, Gordon (Michele) Elamon of Indianapolis and Toney Elamon of Shelbyville, 6 grandchildren, Dylan (Taylor) Elamon, Emily ( Phil) Elamon, Ashley (Stephie) Reno, Justine Perrin, Kristian (Lauren) Leach and Tyler Leach, and 8 great grandchildren.

Roger worked construction for many years mostly hanging and finishing drywall. He opened a sports card/memorabilia shop in Shelbyville in the early 90’s. In the late 90’s he became the head of maintenance for Blue River Vocational School in Shelbyville, where he retired in 2016.

Roger was a Cherished and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed by all.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21 at Indiana Funeral Care, Greenwood, 2433 E. Main Street, Greenwood, IN 46143. Friends may visit from 11 a.m. until service time. Roger will be laid to rest following the service at Fairland Cemetery.
