Rodney Allen Jordan

Rodney Allen Jordan, 84, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on September 23, 2026. Born June 9, 1942, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Rodney was the son of Albert and Vera Jordan. He will be remembered with deep affection, and with the kind of warmth that made others feel at ease in his presence.

Rodney proudly served in the United States Navy from 1961 to 1964, a time that reflected his steady sense of duty and commitment. He later attended Ozark Christian College from 1966 to 1970, continuing a life shaped by faith and purpose.

Rodney was married to his wife, Kay Jordan, for 30 years. Together they built a life centered on family, shared time, and enduring devotion. He especially enjoyed traveling and camping, and he found genuine joy in simple moments—family activities, games, and being together.

A faithful member of Fleming Gardens Christian Church, Rodney’s life was grounded in belief and community. He carried himself with honesty and kindness, and he was also known for a lively sense of humor—often delighting in a well-timed joke or a good prank that left stories worth retelling.

Rodney is survived by his wife, Kay; his sister, Sue; his children, Lori Groves, Juli Jordan, Tony Jordan, and Donald Jordan; along with many other family members and friends.

A Celebration of His Life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at Fleming Gardens Christian Church, 530 Taft Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46241. Rodney will be laid to rest at Marion National Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.
