Robert Earl McAvene Sr.

Robert “Bob” E. McAvene Sr. 79, passed away on October 31, 2026 surrounded by his family.

Bob retired from Ford Motor Company after 30 years of dedicated service. Following retirement, Bob and his wife, Lori, owned and operated several bars on the east side of Indianapolis and throughout Hancock County.

Bob enjoyed many things in life, including playing golf, watching just about any sport, and spending time making sure his lawn was perfectly manicured. He took great pride in keeping his yard looking its best. Although Bob was a man of many talents, driving was not one of them. A quick glance at his insurance premiums support this.

Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 32 years, Lori McAvene, his parents Earl & Allene (Philbeck) McAvene and the family dog, Abbeygail.

Per Bob’s wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service.

Family and friends who wish to honor Bob’s memory may make a donation in his name to Heaven After Hell Rescue, 1833 Expo Lane, Indianapolis, IN 46214.

Bob will be remembered by those who knew and loved him.
