Bob’s career was almost entirely focused on large scale digital signs and related advertising. From November, 1978 through 1985, Bob worked for American Sign and Indicator Corporation, where he was top salesman in a field of 126 sales professionals. By 1984, Bob became National Sales Manager of that company at the age of 31. From 1985 through the year 2000, Bob developed several digital display contracting companies with notable sales in the Midwestern U.S. In the year 2000, Bob accepted an invitation to join Young Electric Sign Co. (YESCO), the largest supplier of super-sized signs in the U.S. At YESCO, Bob sold some of the largest and most famous displays in Times Square, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and various locales in Canada, England, Europe and the Middle East.

In the year 2006 through 2012, Bob worked with the 3 largest billboard companies in the U.S. to design and sell more than 1,200 digital billboards. While at YESCO, Bob developed the company’s scoreboard division with its first sale at Michigan State University, followed by significant installations at other Big 10 Schools as well as the ACC, SEC and other notable university conferences. Scoreboards were designed and sold to Major League Baseball, The National Football League and the National Basketball Association.

Bob was a noted authority on the development of large-scale LED displays. He was a prolific writer on the subject, published over 100 times in industry affiliated

magazines, such as Outdoor Advertising Magazine, Signs of the Times, Out of Home Magazine, Athletic Business, Stadia Magazine and Advertising Age Magazine.

In 2012, Bob retired for the first time, only to come back in 2014 to launch a new digital billboard company, Prime-Site Media with 17 digital billboards in Lower Michigan, now part of Out Front Media of Phoenix, Arizona and New York, New York.

Bob spent most of his free time with Becky and his children. He served as coach for his children in various sports, depending on the preference of each child.

Bob’s family will be honoring and celebrating this amazing man from coast to coast every chance we get.
