Robert G. Belfrom, lovingly known as "Bobb" of Fishers, Indiana passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday September 22, 2025, at the age of 75. His presence will be deeply missed.
Bobb was born on February 13, 1950 in the Bronx, New York City. As a young boy, his family moved to Brooklyn where he grew up. Bobb graduated from Boys High School in 1968. He enrolled at Monmouth College in Illinois, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology/Philosophy. It was at Monmouth College that Bobb met the love of his life Cathy. He also formed many lasting friendships there.
After college, Bobb began his career at GTE (later known as Verizon Communications). Through his high intellect, hard work and dedication, he moved up the ranks at this company. Over a distinguished 35-year career, he happily retired in 2007 as a Logistics Manager. Bobb's primary goal was to provide and protect his family, ensuring that they had opportunities available to them. After his retirement, Bobb would frequently let people know, "I Don't Want To And I Don't Have To!", often smoking a Cuban cigar while doing so.
Bobb is a lifetime member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated. He loved jazz music, particularly Miles Davis and John Coltrane. Bobb was also a huge fan of Bob Marley and his music. Once introduced to golf, he became obsessed with it, until he could no longer handle the physical demands of it. He loved watching sports. Bobb was a proud New Yorker who loved the New York Knicks, New York Giants and the Brooklyn based Junior's Cheesecake. He had an affinity for photography and loved taking photos at family functions and vacations.
Bobb is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Cathy, his three adult children, and four grandchildren.
Bobb stayed true to his spiritual beliefs and principles of mutual respect, equality and fairness. His death has left a void that can never be filled. However, we as a family are thankful for the time that we had with him on this earth.
A Memorial Service for Bobb will be held on Wednesday October 1, 2025, at Indiana Funeral Care. The family invites all who knew Bobb to attend and share their favorite memories of him.
