Richard (“Dick”) Allen Webster, 95, of Indianapolis, surrounded by loving family, peacefully passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2026.
Richard was born to Loris and Mary Webster, neé Orr, on January 4, 1931 in Kendallville, IN. Dick was a graduate of Anderson High School (’48), and a proud alumnus and lifelong supporter of Indiana University (’52). He served in the US ARMY military police from 1952 to 1954, rising to First Lieutenant at Fort Knox, working in the Provost’s Office. Following his military service, Dick married love of his life, Bonnie Lou Webster, neé Grove, on December 17, 1955 and raised three children in Anderson, IN. He sadly became a widower in 1988. He remarried Suellen Webster, neé Horvath, in 1991. Dick and Sue resided on Lamb Lake in Trafalgar, IN before moving to Indianapolis.
Dick enjoyed a long career in outside sales for a plethora of companies and was known by family to be able to sell salt to a snail. These skills never faded; brokering deals for electric wheelchairs and walkers for his fellow Hoosier Village residents in recent years. Throughout his career, and well into retirement, Dick was an active member of Mt. Moriah Lodge No. 77 in Anderson, before becoming a Murat Shriner with the Johnson County Shrine Club. He frequently gathered with these cherished friends, earning Dick the Shriner of the Year award in 2007. Dick was also an avid golfer, passing on his lifelong love for the game to his sons.
Dick was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He will be remembered as reliable, loving, devoted, stubborn, sentimental and unintentionally funny. His family members will forever cherish memories of Dick employing the “RA Factor” to fix things, his love for IU athletics, and Bud Light. Above all, Dick is remembered as a good man, and great husband and father.
Dick was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie, parents, Loris and Mary Webster, sister, Judy Brown, brother-in-law, Wendell Brown, wife, Suellen Webster, stepchildren, Steve Hogan and Tami Hogan, and many cherished dogs.
Dick is survived by his children, Patty Jo (Charlie) Haskett, Stephen (Marsha) Webster, and David (Deanna) Webster, grandchildren, Lindsay (Danny) Broussard, Reginald Badeaux, Ryan Webster, Rachel (Bradley) Webster, and Christine (Austin) Wright, and great-grandchildren, Mollie and Augustus Badeaux, Edward Lohmeier, Bridget Webster, and Hank and Nellie Wright. Also surviving are his stepdaughter Andrea DeGeeter and her sons Rob and Joe DeGeeter.
A gathering for Richard will be held Saturday, June 20, 2026, beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Hoosier Village Chapel, 5385 Soapberry Drive, Zionsville, IN 46268, followed by a private committal service at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Richard (“Dick”) Webster to Tunnels to Towers Foundation at dogood.t2t.org.
