Richard Krieg Sr., a proud Marine, devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather/great grandfather passed away after a courageous battle with dementia.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Brenda, and his three children—two daughters, Tracy, Robbyn (Jon), and one son, Richard (Sunny)—along with the grandchildren, and great grandchildren who brought him immense pride and joy.
He lived a life defined by strength, discipline, and unwavering dedication to his family. His service in the United States Marine Corps shaped his character, but it was his role as a provider and protector that truly defined his legacy. He gave everything he had to ensure his family was cared for, supported, and loved.
To his wife, he was the anchor she could depend on during storms to keep her safe. To his children, he was more than a father—he was a role model and a hero. He led by example, teaching the value of hard work, resilience, and doing what is right, no matter the circumstances.
Even in his battle with dementia, his fighting spirit never faded. In a moment that captured the heart of who he was, he asked his caregiver, “How do I quit?”—a reflection of a man who never gave up. Though the disease took so much, it never took his determination or the love he had for his family.
He fought until the very end.
We find peace in knowing that he is now at rest. His strength, sacrifice, and love will live on in all who knew him.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
There will be a private family memorial. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association: alz.org
